The perhaps more classic motifs of my "Street Photography"
Herby I focus on the scenery in whole and not on the identity of the depicted persons themselves. It is about capturing situations of urban life that make up a special charm. I like sudden interplays between a group of people or one person in their environment or simply an urban landscape become visible. The photography has eventually established this connection, so to speak. I guess often times the people themselves were not even aware of it, since they had a different perspective on the scenery. These interplays are subjetive and I try to capture them while I am passing them by.
The spaces and places where I photographed people had mostly already had a charisma on me. The motifs are not staged or reworked. It's important to make clear, that this is not about exposing people or making fun of them.
In street photography, spontaneity, reaction and speed are important at work. The motives cannot be planned, instead they suddenly arise in front of you or on the other side of the street. So you stroll through the area with your eyes open and are always ready to catch one of these hopefully special snapshots. Sometimes you arrive at a visually coherent place. Then it may be worthwhile to take a closer look at this place in order to better sort its charms. Waiting at these points for someone to take the "stage" is an over 100-year-old technique in street photography and is used by countless enthusiasts of this genre. The motives still remain spontaneous and in a way unpredictable. The environment and the "setting" are then fixed, someone just has to play along...
